Busse Warranty.....reprofiled/refinished BWM!

By the way the knife looks great and I agree it goes above and beyond to do that.

Knifehunter- please tell me the year wait was not on warranty work but on full on custom work.

ETA- I did not order my busse for the warranty, I ordered it because of the incredible reputation for durability. The warranty is a bonus, and I fully understand that it takes time to repair. Also I understand that no other manufacturer would go to this level for a damaged edge. Recoated, reprofiled, redied, all for nothing. Great work busse.

My work was all custom work. No warranty issues at all and it was a box full:eek: Say 15 to 20 knives. So, to me it wasnt a long wait considering everything else that was going on with new knives etc.

Busse seems to have a very loyal sheeple customer base. Good for them for a production knife company. I have started the project of the knife/NA .22 sheath that I needed the 2" x 2" pieces of matching material to complete...not a set of scales (unless one of you experts can tell me if Busse ever made a knife that used 2" scales). As soon as I get the knife back I will make one of my leather sheaths for it and then sell it.

GS,

I will advise you:

1. to be careful of insulting forum members here.
2. That no company anywhere owes you parts of any kind for your "shade tree/DIY" project. Especially a part as you stated they probably don't have in stock in the first place due to its size.
3. You can not promote yourself on BF as a sheath maker without a service provider membership
4. You cant sell a knife or speak of selling anything on bladeforums without being gold member or above

Today has been a strange one. First, to the extremely loyal members of the Busse community, I apologize if I have hurt anyone's feelings.

I got my knife back from Busse this afternoon. I called to get what I was charged as Busse doesn't include invoices (strange, but the charges were reasonable). I told the young lady that answered the phone how I was very disappointed in the finish (I call it cross-hatching. When you skip a grit in finishing and the previous scratches are not removed.) I was going to use this knife in a back-yard/diy project . I wonder if all knives/leatherwork that is created in basements, un-heated log cabins, or containers are considered back-yard/DYI projects. If so, you are talking about the likes of Bill Sagal, Bob Loveless, Wayne Goddard, Gil Hibben and , oh yea, Jerry Busse.

But I digress. A little while later I got a call from Jerry Busse and he explained that if I didn't want the logo removed, that was the best they could do. It was me who requested that the original logo be maintained. It really shows that Jerry Busse really cares about his customers. But it was still a lousy job...

Then sell the knife to someone else and go buy another brand. See ya.

Chris.

Can you post pics before you sell it? I assume it's the satin finish. Just want to see what has you so soured on em.

Best stick to calling Busse fans "sheeple" over the web. In my presence it may lead to an unpleasant experience for you. Good luck.

I think this thread has run its course.

To the original poster,
Apologies for your thread being derailed. Congrats on the sweet BWM.
