Busse Yoroi Toshi!!!

I was never a fan of Tano blades. I find that I always end up using only the corner of the blade where the 2 angles meet. I will give it to them that sharpening them is a breeze.

Most tantos had the curved point, btw.
The yoroi toshi's point was designed to punch a wound channel larger than the blade's following cross section.

Can you post an image of what your speaking of? When you type in 'yoroi toshi' into googles image search you get a broad range from whats posted here, to a fairbairn sykes style dagger. When you say 'wound channel larger than the blade's following cross section', I'm not sure what you mean. If the profile is like that of what your shown on page one in the image posted, the tip doesn't actually create a wound channel larger than the profile, it creates one of the same size, at least in the smaller example. The larger one increases in height making the initial wound channel smaller than if it was inserted to full depth. If you mean smaller in that there is a band breaker style (I don't know the japanese or american name for such a spine oriented half-fuller) that reduces the thickness of the spine, can you point to any kind of citation or record that indicates that that is the purpose of it?

LVC- Look at the Yoroi Toshi on the Hartsfield web-page.
I got my info on page 45 in, R. Maynard's book, Tanto.
I forgot to mention that the YT has a contoured spine also.
Basically, it's just a cool knife.
