Some bonus pics from a hike a few days ago, a little to the north of the original post...
By the side of the highway, dead foxes hanging from the trees
Bushwhacking along a ridgeline
The view from the top of the hill. I was heading for the creek that's going from left to right in the middle of the picture
The ridgeline I was walking along to get down (pic taken later on the hike back up from a different ridge)
Going both down and back up involved cliffs and steep rocky slopes - lots of sliding and climbing

Lunch - a muesli bar and river water drunk from a gold pan

Sunset, halfway up the hill on the way back out. I walked the last hour or so in the dark by torch light

Just look for the ASH and you will know it's Andy, just in case you don't see the "smiley face".
To be honest if I see someone wandering around the desert wearing a smiley face and carrying an ASH1 I'll probably think of "IT" or some other horror movie and do a runner
