Those swissarms are so nice. I hate california..... That socom II is the best i can get in kali.. but imo too expensive. Nice guns and blades gentlemen.

You guys are so lucky.Us Canadians can only dream and drool about owning those beauties-especially that .50 cal:thumbup:-because of our damn gun control laws:mad:
Disaster Monkey-If you don't mind me asking, how much was the Swiss Arms rifle(same as a Sigg 550??) and is it semi-auto only or selective fire?Where did you buy it-I love those rifles:D
Don't ever give up your 2nd Amendment rights!!
Dennis

I am Canadian! This Classic Green Carbine is the Canadian legal, semi-auto equivalent to ... which ever one of the Sig 55X series has the 14.7" barrel. It is restricted, so legally controlled like a pistol, due to having a barrel under 18.5". If you get the Classic Green rifle with the long barrel, they are non-restricted and you can hunt with them, or shoot 'em in the bush. I bought it mail order from The Shooting Edge, in Calgary. They had a limited run in this barrel length, which were apparently from some canceled security company contract. I don't think there are any more new ones, so you would have to look second hand. It was about $3000 to my door with three mags total. The Swiss Arms rifles in other barrel lengths, longer and shorter, are still available new. Expect to pay a bit over $3000 now.

I really believe they are the best military style rifles you can get in Canada. It's a little heavy compared to an AR, but it's rock solid and super slick.

Nothing says 'Get off my land' like a 50 whispering it at you from 2 miles. Great rifle, I was lucky enough to fire a couple of rounds through one a few years ago. Was like handling my first Battle Mistress.

Any thought about you getting this rifle. The Accuracy International AWSM (Arctic Warfare Super Magnum) 338 Lapua.

I've fired it a fair few times and really enjoyed it. Lighter overall but still packing a very hard punch. We used Schmidt & Bender 3-12x50 PM II sights, i'll be honest and say i've not much experience with optics but this scope for me was excellent.

The Accuracy International AWSM (Arctic Warfare Super Magnum) 338 Lapua is a fantastic rifle and the 338 Lapua is a great cartridge. I would suggest handloading due to cost of the rounds.
I have one like this a Blaser LRS2 in 338 Lapua

With this rifle and a handload I have shot one of my best groups

Very nice JParanee, it's just a shame I would have to choose Busse or guns.

Hey Power Monkey

I didn't notice that you're from BC:o
Thanks for the info on your rifle.I had thought that that rifle was on the damn prohibited list:confused:Thanks for the intel re the Calgary shop.
I agree 100% about those Swiss Arms rifles-beautiful and the Rolls Royce of of all 5.56(.223) fifles:thumbup:
I sold my AR-15 HBAR to a Mountie from Alberta(financial problems) a couple of years ago and I miss it-but at least I'd be used to the weight of a Swiss Arms rifle:)
$3000:eek:to your door!! I gotta keep on saving:D-in the meantime I saved your photo to my desktop(hope you don't mind;)) so I can continue drooling.
BTW that AK is also great and on my wish list too.
Nice to talk to another Canadian Busse and gun fan.I'm really hoping the Conservatives can repeal the gun registry soon-I'm still pissed at Bill C-17 but C-68 was way too much and still eats at me 14 years later:mad:
Thanks for the info and take it easy:)

I have a rifle I bought just for hunting up here along the banks of the Yukon River. It's a stainless steel Puma model 92 carbine in .454 Casull. If you don't know what it is, it's a reproduction of the Winchester model 1892 lever action rifle made by Puma Arms, which I believe is owned by Rossi. While Rossi doesn't have the reputation of Dakota for fit and finish, every Rossi rifle I've owned was serviceable and well made. This gun is certainly no exception. It cycles smooth, even in damned cold conditions.

I bought this because I've always liked the idea of a handgun and rifle in the same caliber, this fits with my Super Redhawk 454 revolver. The 454 is more than enough cartridge to go after moose this fall, and the fiber optic sights are perfect for low light conditions we're likely to see a moose in. Pictured with my new 3B2 and kydex (with firesteel, an attachment I plan to add to all of my sheaths now) I have a great Alaska combination.
