Busse's Stolen today

Sorry to hear about your stuff Wilco:(

I hope they catch the fu*#ing losers that did it:mad:

Wilco, sorry man, that sucks. I know exactly how you feel. When we first moved into our home back in 1990, some SOB MFs broke in while we were out and stole many pieces of expensive jewelry.
Some pieces were hierlooms that once belonged to my mother. other were pieces that my wife and I had given to each other since we first met back in 1962. Many pieces were not insured, and irreplaceable.
They never found any of the pieces, and never caught the SOBs.
I didn't own a Busse back then, but did, and still do carry a Colt Commander. I don't know what I would have done had I found them, and it took a long while to "get back to normal".
In any situation like this, at least no one was hurt, and "objects" can alway be replaced.
Meanwhile,if you find these creeps, get one of your other Busses and Slice them up real slow!!!

Sorry to hear about the theft. Hope they recover your stuff. For what it is worth, one of my coworkers had his house cleaned out by theives last month. He received a call from the Yakima police last week and they had located his laptop and most of his cds. Don't give up hope.

Threads like this make me glad that I increase my homeowners coverage...

It's threads like this that make me glad all my stuff is locked in a 900 pound fire safe!

And threads like this remind us that there are some real lowlifes out there. Sorry to hear of your loss, and hope they catch the SOB.

Thanks guys,

An update. They broke in through a side fence, and went one by one with a pole to the security cameras and pushed them up so they were pointed away.....insurance will cover the guitars but not the knives...I had the guitars on file......I too have a safe, but it, along with most of my knives and almost all of my firearms, is at my folks place for safe keeping......Hopefully I will find them, I have some a friend with the diameter of .45 named Wilson that would like to speak to them........

But it's only material, I can buy more Busse's and guitars, speakers, etc....

This sounds cheesy, but I kinda feel violated....

Oh well, I'll live......

Thanks for letting me vent folks.

Dave

you're not cheesy, that's over with the rats:D

you were violated!! it's bullsh!t that people even think of touching others stuff. you probably worked hard for the things you have and it's a shame some fu(ks felt the need to violate you.

what goes around comes around and someday they will be caught or shot and deservedly killed robbing somebody who happens to be ready.

you will be living in your new house and they will slowly end up in prison, or hopefully worse.

take care,
scott

bad news man, bad news...:grumpy:

I hope the bastids get caught, if you catch up with them, give em one for gundy!

SOB's!

Was yours the only locker broken into, or were there others?

That truly sucks. :(

IIRC, most homeowners insurance policies cover "general contents" of a home without requiring specific extra riders on particular items. Check with your insurance company and the storage unit's insurance company to see about replacement costs, deductible sharing, etc.

Stinky is right. You are not cheesy. You were violated. I know the feeling all too well, and anyone who has gone through a similar experience will concur. Anytime anyone crosses the line, without your permission, and enters your "space", that's a violation!!!!

Was your storage area the only one robbed? It sounds to me that no one else was robbed except you. Is that a correct statement?

No, it was multiple storage areas in the complex.....

I'm still pissed, but at least it wasn't stuff that I won't be able to replace....

Silver lining, I guess....

Thanks fellas,

W

Wilco, Damned sorry to hear of the inconsiderate scumbags getting away with your stuff. It stings when we lose something of special quality like a Busse or the guitars.

I concur with the advice to contact your insurance agent. Your homeowners insurance should cover some (if not all) of the loss, assuming you did your due diligence in securing the items in storage (sturdy lock on storage unit door). We pay our insurance premiums so they can retain those mean-ass high-priced lawyers on staff for a reason. ;) Let the lawyers deal with the storage company to determine what degree of shared liability may exist. But do follow-up closely with YOUR insurance company if you feel you aren't getting the coverage you feel your policy allows you.

BTW, I applaud your willingness to very quickly & immediately apply your priorities (i.e. it's only stuff) to the situation and get into the "lets move on" mode. That makes it so much easier to unemotionally do the nuts & bolts steps that come next (notifying police, contacting pawn shops, dealing with insurance people, etc). The fact that the people you next deal with won't be confronted with someone still steaming at the ears will serve to make your dealings with them much smoother and exert less wear & tear on you as well.

Best of luck, -- Greg --

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss...

I hope when the perps try to cash in, that they get caught.

It's great that you have not shown great malice toward them. I think that is a very helpful attitude.

Good Evening All-

Wilco, sorry to hear about your unfortunate story.

This would support the idea I've heard of making a "digital catalog" of valuable items on your computer that includes costs/replacements as well as pictures.

Hope your search efforts uncovers the missing items.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Is there a specific knife exclusion to you policy? You may want to check out the policy carefully to see if there is coverage. Moreover, pressing a claim against the storage facility may yield some fruits. Even if you are not made entirely whole, sometimes a little salve can sooth the wounds.

I am sorry to hear about the theft of your knives.
I happen to live in the Austin area and will keep
a look out and if I see any Busse's at a pawnshop,
etc., I'll email you a heads up through this forum so
you can go check the place out.
Again, I am sorry and pissed something like that would
happen around here.

In a word, that sucks big time! I hope the karmic wheel goes flat for the thieves!

Sounds pretty suspicious...

As for the storage company, they have to take responsibility for some of it. If it wasn't an inside job that was cased, somebody probably knew in advance, through the grapevine, you had the stuff and arranged to "coveniently" go for and break into your storage locker.

Do what you gotta' do to set things straight! This is pure BS! Trust no one!

Shmoopiebear is right. It does sound suspicious.
The part about using a pole to tilt ALL?? cameras away
from the area?? It sounds like an inside job at
the storage place in some capacity. In fact in a town like Austin
someone at the facility probably saw that music equipment going in to the locker and was probably the real target of the break in.
