that is the finish, it is bead blasted twice, i believe, to produce a smooth subdued grey finish.

My understanding is double-cut means:

1st cut - Satin polished with belt sander (normal satin finish)

2nd cut - Bead blast - which gives it a fairly uniform matte finish
