I am very sorry to report that Buster passed away of a heart attack. What a terrible loss for the knifemaking world.

My condolences go to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I just heard this news -- very sad. This seems to be happening way too often these days. :(

Terrible and sad news :( .

When I just opened this thread I expected anything but this. Just lately I was looking through David Darom's Book and admired Mr. Warenski's beautiful work of art.

We've lost a living legend. :grumpy:

Condolences to Julie and all his family.

Some of my earliest readings (Gun Digest Book of Knives Vol 1.) speak of his expertice and it was with him during his entire venture in knifemakeing. His influence upon custom knives will be with us for generations.

So many of the masters are getting up there in years.

RIP Buster. :(

Very sorry to hear this, when I opened the thread I wasn't expecting this at all. We have lost a great one for sure.

So much sadness in the custom knife community of late. Prayers sent for Buster and his family.

My sincerest condolences to Julie and the rest of his family.
Buster was a Master.

Man, I hate that. Buster taught me how to make silver sheaths and I really enjoyed being around him. He never minded sharing what he knew. So sad. I will also include his family in my prayers.

Buster was a living legend. I am sad for the family and extend my thoughts and prayers, too.

I never owned one of his piece, but he was obviously a genius. It's a huge loss for all knife nuts... :(

I've always been of the opinion that Buster Warenski was in a class of his own. The man was exceptional and will be missed. Our prayers go out to his family.

I'm proud have known Buster and he was a nice guy as well as a great maker. My condolences to Julie and the family.

Buster and Julie opened their home to me and it was pleasure to have him share both his life and knife experiences with me.

Very sad news. I was speaking to Buster just a few months back about a Bowie knife. He made some awesome stuff.

My prayers are with his family.

I am deeply saddened by this news, Buster was in a class all by himself then when Julie and he started working together they shined as one. Beautiful work that will always stand alone.
My prayers to Buster, Julie their family and those who feel his loss.

Wow, what a blow

I never did get to meet him... I was looking forward to the day. I have been fortunate enough to see many of his knives first-hand, and they were all stunning.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Julie and family.
