A dog, coyote ugly, a turkey, etc. This is what happens when 4 guys stand around the forge with a beer and help design a knife. (Like they say: the camel was designed by a committee.) That being said this is still a good working knife with good steel and proper heat treating. It coulld make a good camp knife for someone if they could tolerate the looks of the thing. Anyone interested in this mutt for $100?

Forged from 1/4 inch 5160
220 grit flat grind
Forge finish including scale on the flats
Dyed white oak handle
Overall length: 11 1/4 inches
Blade: 6 3/4 inches
Leather scabbard

$100 ---SOLD----delivered to the US or Canada. My PayPal account is gldrewknives@yahoo.com Checks with time to clear and USPS money orders OK too.

Man, if I had the spare cash, I'd take it off your hands! I think it purdy:o:thumbup: I really like the knives that've been coming off of your anvil lately:thumbup:

Looks good to me! Only thing that bothers me a little is there's no pin near the front of the handle.

Looks like this one is sold. Thanks for being kind everyone.

Judging by the thickness of the blade, you could limb a tree with that thing. Nice work! :D

I certainly wouldn't call this one ugly by any means. Fortunately, it appears someone has already snagged it, so I don't have to worry about explaining another blade to Mrs. JC.

Do you have another, detailed picture of this?

It looks like something unique is going on with the tang in this photo, but the details are hard to make out. Again, nice looking blade:thumbup:

Sorry, I already shipped the butt ugly but here is a couple of shots of what I do sometimes. The guys at the forge wanted to watch me do an integral guard so it came out on the mutt knife too.

Not ulgly at all, more of an attractive homely. Yeah, the librarian with a decent figure. Anyway, one of the best things about that knife is that a person would not hesitate to use it, and use it hard.

BTW, your forging work is coming along nicely.

I like it too! In fact, if it had an 8" blade, it would be just what I'm looking for in a chopper. I'm going to bookmark this page, Gerry, and get in touch with you about this when the $ is freed up. Again, very very nice blade.

any chance you will make more of these "ugly" blades for that price??:D
Jiggy;
With all the comments on this one I just might buy a 12 pack, get my buddies together and pound out some more. Right now I am off to a canoe trip with my sons and grandsons so it might be a few weeks.
