I was ask today if I knew where to get Pure Steel or Butter Iron??? They told me that it is the modern equivalent of wrought iron and is a 1005/06 steel. I have never heard of it.  Have any of you????

Valimas has pointed you in the right direction. I may be able to get my hands on some as a member of my blacksmith guild imported some a while back. I'll email you for more details on size, etc.

1005 and 1006 are standard grades but I have no idea where to find them. Pureiron is a different story and probably more expensive.

IG , I'm not sure what "pure iron" is but FWIW I can get you all of the "pure iron ore pellets" that a guy could ever want. Several buddies of mine work at CCI (Cleveland Cliffs) , a large iron mine up here. The pellets ( about the same size as a "deer pellet" ) also make some of the most lethal slingshot ammo available ;) If that is different than "pure iron" I can't help ya  But if you can use some let me know . BTW , Good Morning

After looking over Joes (valimas) link, I see that pure iron isn't so pure . Not the same as iron ore pellets . 50* :grumpy: , what the heck am I doing up here in the a**hole of the world. Snowing and 28* here :(

HEY!!! The sun never came out today and the day wasn't that good.:grumpy: But it didn't snow.:p :D

Sounds interesting, I wouldn't mind some for decorative iron work, and wouldn't mind trying some for gaurds and such.
