Butterfly knife in CA

Hello new here.

I know butterfly knife is illegal in California.

but If I can special order a butterfly knife not sharp. dull blade.

it should not be consider as knife. can I do that.

the only exception i am aware of would be if the blade were under 2".

i have seen nothing to indicate an unsharpened blade invalidates the penal code section (653k pc).

A dull blade is still a blade. I imagine a trainer blade would be OK, since it's not really a "blade". Maybe you could seriously grind down a blade into a trainer blade (so there's no possibility of ever resharpening) including completely rounding off the tip, and it'd be OK. But simply having a dull/unsharpened blade won't cut it (no pun intended).
