button head screws

button head screws won't work on a fixed blade knife will it and keep the screws the same on both sides will it

Try a threaded sleave in between the scales (through the tang ). Use a shorter button head so they don't bottom out against each other. Or...use blind bolts (AKA, sex bolts ). Common items at home supply stores.
