If you bought the Weaver Master Tools version, try standing it more upright than you are used to. They cut better more upright presentation to the leather.

Thanks for that tip it helped, I also ended up spending about 15 minutes sharpening it up before my latest sheath project yesterday and it did a good job.

Interesting, I've got two of the Weaver Master tool edgers and never had to sharpen either when new. Using it more straight up and down like Paul mentioned did take soem getting use too. Glad it worked out well for you.
