Hi Bladeforums,

Just wanted to let everyone know about this horrible transaction I have made with Samuel Flanagan on Facebook. I had approached him for the sale of his Black Delrin LTD Bead, made by Scoopyloops. He had advised that with an additional $5, he would ship internationally to me (I live in Canada). So I agreed and Paypal'd him the funds. Unfortunately I was foolish and paid with F&F so that I only paid the exchange fees. Upon paying, he confirmed that he had mailed the bead but did not provide tracking as he did not ship it USPS priority. So I waited and waited for it. This was back in April and now it is June and I have yet to receive the bead. Therefore I approached him and asked about the bead and he more or less said too bad so sad, should've paid with fees so that I could claim a refund from Paypal.

Now I know I was stupid to not pay with fees BUT it still did not make sense as he does not have tracking so there is no way of me proving that the package never made it to me or that it had even been shipped at all. He refused to respond to me after I asked for him to resolve this problem until I advised him that I would start posting about this bad transaction. In which he just told me I could do so if I wanted to. So here I am, telling you all don't buy from this guy. He will not take responsibility for anything.

Also, as I don't know if he uses BladeForums or not, I'll leave you his paypal so you know. His paypal is Oldschoolpunkrocker@hotmail.com.

Thank you,

Hass

F&F for a deal from Facebook- Sorry but this doesn't have anything to do with Bladeforums and it just re-iterates to Never Pay via F&F.

Contact PayPal and talk with them- they've refunded money on purchases paid for via F&F and it would be good to inform them of this guys behavior so they're aware.

You didn't "buy" anything. There was no "transaction". You gave a random guy on the internet your money with a method that explicitly outlines nothing is asked in return. Sorry, that was very stupid. And now you know why.

Well, if you have messages as proof you could try phoning up paypal support and seeing if they can do anything as you have proof he screwed you even if you did pay F&F.

As has already been said, try calling paypal. Lesson learned about F&F, unfortunately so many people have to learn this way. I hope you're able to get your money back, but not optimistic.

I fail to understand why someone would try to skirt all of the protections paypal offers them to save pocket change...

Scam always goes the same way...paid F&F... got ripped off.

I think a lot of people just don't know when they first start buying. I know I didn't, even paid F&F a couple times at the seller's request. Luckily never got ripped off, but started reading about others who had been, and wised up.

Hope paypal does not give his money back. Doing so repeatedly just raises the fees for the rest of us who use the service as intended and agreed upon.

You signed a contract. Read it and do what it says.

Why don't people look at the money being saved by using F&F basically being them not paying for insurance?

Ahhhh, but you are asking them to THINK. Not common among those who will cheat a company out of $5 or $6 on a $200 knife for the same reason a dog licks himself.

What could the fees have possibly been for this purchase???
The bead wasn't platinum.
I'll guess $30. The fees are less than a dollar.

I imagine that at some point PayPal may just do away with that service because of the abuse of f&f not worth the headache for them. So people that use it legit will pay the price for the bad apples

It's like trying to save a couple bucks on insuring a package, not worth the hassle penny pinching in the end
