Have you ever had this feeling after buying a knife? I got this when I bought my first small Sebenza. I thought, "what the heck did I just throw $400 on a knife for?". Yes, I felt sick afterwards...:barf: I could have used the money for other things, but nooo. I got over it the next day and everything was cool.

I was feeling a little stupid after I got my small Sebenza at first.
Then, for whatever reason, it seemed to find itself in my pocket most of the time and it sure is a piece of cake to take it apart and clean the sawdust out (I'm supposed to be a woodworker).
I'm pretty sure it was worth it. Easiest knife to maintain that I've ever had and the tolerances are freaky good.

Feeling sick means you went waaaaay above your means.

Actually you're wrong IMO. I can afford to spend a lot more than I spend on knives but there were times when I had buyers remorse when I looked at the cost of the knife I bought and realized what other things there are that money like that could buy. That and I'll second guess myself as to if I could of made a better knife purchase for the same amount of money or I'll wonder if I'm going to get a bad one.

I suspect if I sold my knives I'd get back more money than I spent on the whole.

Can't say the same about the video cards I've bought.

Those are my thoughts on the matter. I'm fortunate that my educational endeavors and career have provided well for my family so far (knock on wood). Money was not really an issue, just that initial feeling of shock that I would drop that much cash on a knife, rather than maybe getting 2-3 for that amount.
EDIT: Video cards are not money well spent. I'm still using an EVGA 8800 GT OC (3 years old), along with the rest of my old rig. I may upgrade someday soon Core i7 FTW!

no regrets!!!:d

But I do get preemptive remorse. As in I know I'm about to spend another $300 on a knife in a near future. And I'm thinking what happened to needing only one knife and everything.

I've bought knives that ended up being pretty disappointing, but I've usually been able to sell or trade them off at no great loss. It's always either because I get the knife in my hands and it's uncomfortable, the F&F is sloppy, or something generally rubs me the wrong way about it.

The only knife I still have that I've regretted buying is my Benchmade Presidio. This thing's had to go back twice, once to the dealer and once to Benchmade because of various problems with the mechanism, and I'm still having problems with it - hasn't even been sharpened yet. I'm starting to regret not getting rid of this thing - if that counts as buyer's remorse...I've paid over 40$ shipping this blade back and forth to date, we'll see how high it goes before I get fed up.

I have the money.
I spent the money.
I received the product.
Kicked myself.
Then my Seb kicked all the other knives out of my pocket.

Everything was okay after that and then I bought a Large Sebenza to match. :D

My only remorse comes when i realize that collecting is an addiction. Seriously, i get the new knife in the mail and then i am right back on here looking at other knives...never satisfied.

No actual remorse of getting knife aslong it was reputable makers. I just wonder where to get everything. I am still going to spend it somewhere, I might aswell spend something that holds value better than computer's or €'s

The only time i regret buying a new knife is when it lets me down. However the dealer or manufacturer will take care of any problems i had and the regrets go away. No actual buyer's remorse though.

And you felt sick over this?

Bingo. I buy a lot of old knives. I tell my people I'm investing. I look at most purchases for about 2 minutes, then it's in the safe, and looking for more. Never satisfied... Amen! Remorse is for sissies. :D

I've had seller's remorse...only knife that I wish I got cheaper was my Ritter grip I bought for $75 on craigslist. I'm still not totally satisfied...great knife though

Yes, sometimes. The remorse usually goes away after a day or so. But I've always second guessed myself. Usually once I start using it the remorse goes away. Mostly it's knives I've bought from the auction site where people have been very unscrupulous in describing a knife. When you buy something without holding it first, I don't think buyers remorse is uncommon.
