I've searched through old post on the forums for a while about this subject and I just can't wrap my mind around it. I'm pretty confused on the best one to get. Wether to use a ranged one that reads radiation or one with a Thermocouple which might just immediately melt off and leave me standing there sighing. And building a "Well" for the Thermocouple just doesn't really sound like a good idea to me. I dread the idead of trying to weld a pipe to the inside of my forge and it just doesn't seem like that would be the best way there is to do it. But like I said I don't know. And before I spend the money on one of these things I would really like to know which one you guys personally use and why you think it's the best. I just don't have the knowledge to really make that decision. It would be used for the Basics. Finding Forge Welding temperatures as well as Heat Treating temps. for blades.
