So I've been using a harbor freight 1x30 for a year and a half and stumbled upon a nearly new 1.5 hp KMG 3-speed with 10" wheel and flat platen plus a few hundred dollars worth of belts for $1000. This is a good deal, right? I should have it next week!

$1,000!? Just so we're clear, I now hate you!

Seriously, congratulations on that deal! I can't wait to retire my HF grinder.

So I just picked up this 2 HP Milwaukee (2" belts, 18" disk) on a stand at the local Architectural Salvage lot. Cost was $250 and it looks almost unused. A little surface rust on the disk is all and it comes off with steel wool. If you haven't looked into the 2nd use places I recommend them. I also got 5 interior solid doors for about 30% of Lowe's price. I just missed a really nice grinding wheel set up (two wheels, 90 degree offset, 1.5" mandrills, with water). If the guy doesn't pick that up in 24 hours it's mine. Look for places like "Habitat for Humanity" or "Second Use". I'm still kicking myself for not picking up the huge vise they had last time I went.
