Buying auto knives - whch US states?

Which US states allow anyone (not Law Enforcement/EMS) to buy auto knives, either in a store or on-line?

I have homes in a state (CA) and a country (UK) that allow ownership but not purchase or carry of switchblades. I would like to find out where I can legally buy one. I even have a major need for one - skydiving.
