Hi,

We are taking a family holiday to Hawaii (Honolulu) in early 2016 (just booked the flight yesterday).

I would like to know the best or the top 2 brick and mortar stores to buy / handle / fondle folding knives in Honolulu as we can't do this in Australia and I'd like to bring a few home with me.

My internet research shows these could be worth a look, any others ?

OGC Tactical & Mojo Tactical - 1625 Kahai St
Young Guns - 2885 Paa St
Danger Close Tactical - 2036 Pauoa Rd
Honolulu Firearms and Range - 940 Queen St

Cheers from DownUnder

The only really decent store on the list is Young Guns as far as service and selection. Another option is Security Equipment Corp., they sell to a lot of law enforcement guys. Haven't been to the store in a couple of years when I bought a Surefire flashlight but they are generally well regarded locally. I actually bought my old Benchmade CQC7 back in the 1990's from them before on line shopping became to huge. Danger Close is located in a mostly residential area and you enter through a cafe (?) which seems odd. Check out the Yelp reviews on the other two, kind of hit or miss IMO.

I was going to say far as I know Hawaii banned switchblades and butterfly knives. I think its of the the strictest states on knife laws.

Also check out Power Edge - 510 Piikoi Street #120
It's an Airsoft store, but also carries knives. I've bought several Benchmades from them at reasonable prices. Selection was pretty good last time I was in there, but it can vary depending on whether they got a recent shipment or not. They also carry Spydercos and some other brands that I can't remember. I want to say ZT, but not sure.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll continue my internet research.
I really appreciate the local knowledge.
Cheers

I know there is a store out in Kaneohe. We took a driving trip out around the island through the North shore and back to Waikiki where we were staying. Pretty sure we passed it on the way back. just a bit of advise..... the H-1 is aweful for traffic so make sure if your renting a car to only travel it at certain times
