Hey guys, anyone know any good places to buy knives in Toronto? Any experience with S&R Knives?

Seems the Internet is where more and more folks shop nowadays. If there's a 30 day return policy then there isn't much risk either.

before you start buying knifes on the net you first need to see if they will ship them to you and is the knife allowed in your country?? I wish you the best of luck. why don't you check out the exchange here on this form first.

They are really great! excellent customer service. and i am picky with f&f, they are very patient with me choosing out of a few...
Possibly the only place in Toronto with the variety they have in stock...

I have not been to downtown Toronto in over 20 years, but I recall military surplus stores on Yonge Street in the down town area just a few blocks north of the Toronto island airport. They had knives for sale on display, not sure of the brands available, but plenty of them

S&R has been great, some prices are a bit higher then other online dealers but welcome to canada lol we pay more for everything anyways. Ive purchased a few mnives from them and have not had a single issue yet.

416isToronto: is this for real? Prescott Hwy alongside Ottawa, and headed for 401, turned from 2 lane Kings Hwy 16 to 4 lane Queens Hwy 416 about 20 years ago. 613 is my area code and 519 is my sister's in Cambridge. Are you saying that GTA (greater toronto area) is telephone area code 416? Sort of makes sense in that I obscure the license plates of my car everytime I use your 407 tollway. Lots of 400s whenever you travel through southern Ontario. 3/4 of all Canadians live within an hour's drive of Hog Town (Toronto)!

Thanks guys, I'll go check them out. Do they let you hold the knives before you buy them?

S&R is fantastic. Great to deal with through ebay and better in person. They'll let you handle anything you want before buying. Great people, awesome selection!

In-store customer service is excellent and the owners (Sean or Rodney) are pretty nice folks. Worth a visit and a chat at the least.

416 is indeed the area code for Toronto. Well one of them now...few years ago they introduced 647 and earlier this year 437. Surrounding areas like Mississauga, Oakville etc had 905, some time back 289 was added, and earlier this year there was talk of adding 365. So when you are getting a call from the Greater Toronto Area it can be any of those SIX different area codes. but 416 is the original Toronto area code...
That 3/4 population is now buying a lot of mobile devices, and they have added all these area codes to keep up with demand..

From a CBC article:
"In Toronto, the 437 area code joins the existing 416 and 647 codes. And, for those in the surrounding areas that use 905 or 289 codes — including Whitby, Burlington and Mississauga — the 365 area code will be introduced.
Both come into effect starting March 25, 2013, the Telecommunications Alliance said in a release on Wednesday.
Those signing up for new phones may still be assigned the existing area codes for the next few months — at least until they run out of numbers."
