I agree with Tom, except I have never had a wife -- it's nice to go to Vegas whenever and spend money on whatever new hobby I find, which currently is knives. I don't have as large a collection as Tom, but I have a few dozen now and more on the way. Being single has its rewards. ;)

I really don't have anything against marriage, BUT, I've done it and will never do it again! I go where I want and do what I want and buy knives when I want! I love it!

My girlfriend (of nearly 13 years) and I each handle our own finances.
We each have our careers and we split all the bills, rent, etc. down the middle.

With the rest... she does what she wants and I do what I want.

We respect each other's individuality and freedom - with that freedom having a very few rather-obvious limitations.

I can't even IMAGINE having a wife telling me what I was ALLOWED to do. ESPECIALLY with my money.

.

Well, it looks like FullofLead knows what he wants out of his relationship with his gf and many other members have an 'understanding'--completely honest or not--worked out with their wives ... it's the one that don't swing one way or the other that sound like they should watch out for the icebergs =P

For me, it's "Mad Money". Mad Money is the big ol' jar that sits on my dresser. I put my end of the day change in it, and when it's full, it's time to buy something. Usually end up with around $300-350 or so. Takes about a year or less to accumulate. I also remind her that I DON'T: Golf, gamble, hang out drinking in bars, hang out at strip clubs, have a bass boat (even though I want one!), wear all the latest GQ fashions, and collect expensive cars. My vices are knives, hunting, and guns to a limited extent.

Of course, there are knives that she doesn't know about...;)

This is my first post, and an important one! I bought a Sinn watch a couple of years ago. I did a lot of posting about it before and after the purchase. I tend to use my actual name on forums. A couple of months later I was doing some geneology work on Google and lo and behold all of my posting came up when you searched under my name. Be careful guys, our wives and girlfriends may be smarter than we give them credit for! You are not alone...
P.S. I got caught with the credit card bill, it wasn't pretty. I ended up buying her a Sinn watch too.
