Do you usually purchase your knife directly from a company, from a local store, or a dealer online?

i used new graham knives and 888 knives a few times. the last few knives have been from the exchange and amazon.

I usually just buy online usually from dealers. Hard to find a good place locally with competitive prices. I have not bought anything off the exchange yet but that will surely change soon enough.

GPknives is a bladeforums dealer, so I like to use them. Other than that, I use ebay (trusted sellers) and the exchange boards

By choice, I look on the Exchange first. I like to buy a knife some other knife knut has checked out, maybe tuned up. I don't mind a few scuffs from use.

I do have a few top dealers I go to if necessary.

Mostly Knifecenter, BladeHQ, GPKnives, and Knifeworks. The only places in this area that sell knives carry cheapo Gerbers and related items :barf:, so that only leaves the internet for me.

BUY knives???

I just make them...... :p

There is a lot of great knives being made now days, you're a lucky bunch.

I have given up on retail chain stores: too much Gerber and serrated/coated blades. Mom and Pop stores tend to have a equally poor selection, and, or charge full retail or more. I typically buy from reputable dealers like Cutleryshoppe or Notjustknives because their prices are consistently the lowest. I also have Knifeworks, Grand Prairie knives, Blade HQ, and Knife Center in my favorites. Grand Prairie tends to have the best knife "specials". If you have the time Ebay has the cheapest knives, but dealer integrity, customer service can be inconsistent. Check ratings and feedback. I don't like paypal either. I avoid Ebay now. It can be very addictive.

I have bought hundreds of knives from eBay sellers and have never been burned. Since I joined this forum I have bought a few off the exchange. There are some great deals available and I am probably going to do most of my buying here, if I can convince more guys that Canada is not really an overseas country.

I usually buy my knives through New Graham.....Michael Dye and his crew really know how to take care of their customers.

Unless I find a good deal here in the exchange. :D
