Buying new tactical fixed blade

blackjack model 5?

classic, tough, can be used for multiple purposes, and proven design? Also the model 125, or slightly larger the new model 15/16.

Also the ontario ranger tfi, feels great in the hand and .25 5160. Can be had for like $90.

I will check it out.

Just saw some reviews of the Benchmade Nim cub 3.5", that one looked descent! 3.5" is ok ;)

I've had a Nim Cub for years (one of the old ATS 34 blades), and I love it. It is a very hand knife. I actually had purchased a full size Nim, but sent it back for the Cub. The regular Nim just seemed too thin for its blade length.

the Fallkniven F1 (4") or S1 (5") fit both your requirements and budget.

I'll second this, too. Fallkniven knives are excellent, and the handles are fully covered with Thermorum to protect your hands from the cold.

Call me crazy, but wouldn't one of the many fine knives made in Norway (Bruseletto, Helle, Stromeng) suit your needs ideally?

None of them have exposed tangs. Know why? Because the people in Norway who designed them know its really cold up there.

Many of them are good knives, and i have a lot of them, helle, brusletto, tried them all. But im more attracted to other blades. And the norwegian knives isnt much of tactical blades. Im in the military, and use my knives hard. The Strømeng 9" knives is widely used in the norwegian army, but for a smaller tactical blade we dont have much that suit my needs.

I already have a S1, pretty awesome blade. I dont like the sheath though. And i like it too much to beat the hell out of it in the field :P

Just placed an order on the ESEE Izula in tan color and with Micarta handle plates and hardwear :D

Thanks for all help, appreciate it :)

Hey Turbo, try to do a search for a guy called Bryan Breeden, he`s ex-marine and made me a sweet knife. i got it in 7 inch blade, but he`ll make excactly what you want. And not to expencive either.
His heattreat and edges are wicked good.

(Har brukt min på et utall antall turer på vinteren, og aldri et problem...)
PM me if you want pictures..
Where in Norway are you from?

Here is one Bryan made for me, and one he made for my wife...

Hi, thanks, that knife looks cool, hard use knife :)
What kind of steel did he use?
Just bought a Esee izula, ZT 200, Spyderco tenacious and some kydex plates and hardware for custom sheath making so kinda broke now.

But when i get my paycheck i will def check out the work of that guy.

Im from the small town Ski 20 min south of Oslo, guess you know where since you live in Oslo ;)

o-1 steel, he goes by the name of Sicily02 in here, if you want his site, I think he calls himself Breedenknives. He`s listed on myspace if I`m not mistaken, super guy to work with and always sending pictures of the knife in progress, so that you can do small changes if you see something you would want a little different... I`ve used mine in the HV Innsatsstyrke here, and several of the guys abused it.... Still came out screaming for moore, lol...;)
