I have noticed a lot of negative threads concerning people trading, buying and selling here on Blade Forums. Most can be solved very easily by following a few simply guide lines,
1-If you have the time to post something for sale or trade, I believe you have the time to ship in a timely manor. If you are going out of town for 3 days or more after you post a thread, either wait to post or take the item with you and ship when you are out of town. If in doubt you can always print a label on the post office website without a name and fill that in when you trade/or sell the item.
2-If trading pick a day to send out the trades and ship on the same day. Make sure both parties agree on the day.
3-Make sure you want to trade the item for what is agreed upon in the trade deal. A lot of people frown upon backing out at the last moment after a deal is made.
4-Communication, plain and simple. Sending a email is not that hard and only takes a few minutes. A short email can put anyone's mid at ease. If something happened, have to take you kid to the doctor, mom is sick, dying relative, pet is sick, etc.. Just send a email to explain this.
5-Make sure you put all the details in your post, payment type, shipping, insurance, etc.. All the fine print and details!!
6-Make sure what you are buying that you can pay in a timely matter. Some people like it within a hour, some will wait a few days for payment, both parties should agree to the payment type and time is should be received.
7-Lost items and insurance should be agreed upon. Some people will not take the risk of shipping oversea's, make sure you agree upon that before buying a item from oversea's. I believe insurance is up to the seller, if a buyer refuses insurance, due to not wanting to sign for a package, then it should be on there head.
8-If a package is lost, the seller and buyer should look into what happened to it. Call the post office on both ends. If the item says delivered on the tracking number check with neighbors and the local Post Office. If it can not be found after a few days or week, refund the persons money and hope you have insurance.
9-Insurance, if you can not afford to loose the item or money from the item, put insurance on it, plain and simple.
10-Wait to post a negative about a deal, not 1 or 2 days, but a week or so. Not "its been 10 minutes and I have not heard anything from the other party". This can lead to unwanted bad publicity to yourself and the other party.
11-COMMUNICATION, so important it has to be said twice!!
This is a fairly short list, add any others I have forgotten.
Good luck Buying, Selling and Trading!!
