Im looking to find a local source(s) for knife steels in Oklahoma. I live around Tulsa but am always traveling in the area. Anybody have a source they would like to share?

I tell everyone that in the continental US, steel is as close as your mailbox/front door. Order today and get it in a few days for very little shipping. It is always better to get several bars, as they usually ship at the nearly same price as one bar. Aldo is the only steel supplier I use anymore.

Hi from a fellow Okie! Jantz Supply is the only supplier I know of in our state. As Stacy mentioned, for selection, quality, and service, NJSB is hard to beat. Good luck.

While it's not in Oklahoma. Texas knife is in Houston and they've always been good to me.

SB metal and NJ steel barren depending on the grade you need cover mores bases. if you jsut need a small piece or want to try somethig new AKS (alpha knife supply ) or usa knife makers supply (tracy mickely )

Specialty Steels LLC down in Dallas is another choice.
Forging you can get 5160 and 52100 from Ray kirk at Tahlequah. He also has several thicknesses of 15n20 to play with.

Maeknives, You can mail order your steel as recommended by Mr. Apelt from The New Jersey Steel Baron and have it in a couple days. Also to be considered are Admiral Steel and Pop's Knife Supply. I have bought steel from all three suppliers and I check all three for price when I shop. The shipping charges are often offset by low prices on various steels at various times. It pays to spend a few minutes on line if you are going to buy more than a few feet of steel. You might find a better deal for your steel on line than through a local retail company. Larry
