  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Buying whistles for youth quickly, any BF'ers carry them?

You might want to try different kinds with kids. Some of the really loud ones take too much wind for too long for a lot of kids to use effectively.

Good point m. my kids aren't that good at getting the most from the fox micro. The 40 is a little better. 9 year old boy can destroy your ears with the storm whistle - but its big. 7 yr old girl can do very well on the old metal whistles "Acme Thunderer" I believe. The acme has a pea, for better or worse.

Any whistle is better than none at all.

I have a whistle attached to each of my packs and bags.

I have a couple of GoingGear's "Howler" whistles... they're nice machined aluminum; small, light and LOUD for less than two bucks!

I also have a big (and I mean, big; looks like a small musical instrument) plastic "Storm" or something like that. It's so loud you have to plug your ears when you blow it hard.

And I have a bunch of zipper-pull whistles that aren't all that loud.

Stay sharp,
desmobob
