BWM LE initial impressions

I bought a couple of BWM LE's, one to keep and one to beat, and I am trying to decide if I want a CG FBM as a user too.

The more I mess around with the two the more I notice their subtle differences. The Bushwacker seems more capable of doing menial tasks as well since it is slightly narrower than the FBM. Both are really amazing.

If I really want to chop down a forest I will grab my NMFBM.

I know what you mean, I have my grail blade that I have to get before I think about another CGFBM as a beater. I also have the NMFBM that I have to use and the FFBM as my beater.

If you are going to use her, no worries.
If she's to be a safe queen... it would bother me.
But really, for $600 and being an LE, I don't think it's acceptable. :o
I have a few that should have had better QC... I might send them back for
cleanup, but that's a lot of wasted $$$ on shipping & insurance for what
should have been done right the first time. Just my 2 cents.

BWM LE & CG FBM feeling the same weight wise... It's funny what the
balance of a blade can do to its feel of weight in hand. My FBM Recurve Proto
feels the same weight as the CG FBM... But I doubt that's true considering
.320" thick versus .250" thick, even with the metal removed from the
agressive clip point, straight spine, and recurve on the BM Proto. The
balance point is about 1"+ further back towards the handle on the Proto BM
compared to the CG FBM.

.

Man, now your getting my OCD side a little paranoid. I think I will just have to beat the crap out of it so you can't tell any more.

I will keep #8 as a safe queen.:eek::eek:

They really do feel the same weight even though I know that can't be the case. Maybe it has to do with the saber grind and slightly longer blade. The more I play with them the more I see the subtle differences though. The bushwacker is just a little quicker than the CG FBM.

That is a great #, you got more then one? What other numbers?

I got #8, 9, and 10. Sadly, I think one of them will have to find a new home soon. I was doing a little better financially back when I ordered these than I am now. You want one Dan?:D

I got #360. :D

This blade is what I've been wanting for quite a while. Thick enough to handle the job without being unwieldy, saber grind to bring the weight forward a bit, strong tip without a swedge that would kill the baton. Oh yeah, 360 is happy.

Next step, BWSH LE.

Send me your LE and CGFBM (Mines is a Safe queen now post SPA) and I will be more than happy to break it in for you. :D

I will send them back when I am done. :D

Nice review Oeser, and Ankerson, I will send them back when I'm done.ROFL, They'll be quite beat up by that time. :D :D :)

I don't think anybody ranks higher on the OCD scale than me.. :o :p
Now go beat on #10 and all will be right in the world. :D

My BM Proto feels quicker in hand too, as well as well as feeling more agile for the finer tasks.
I really never thought much about the balance of a knife and how it effects the feel in hand until lately.
Now I really CAN'T WAIT for my BWM LEs to get here!!! :D

I never said they would be pretty looking when I sent them back now did I? :D LOL

Went and took a pic of the BWM and the Rat Daddy for comparison. My BWM both longer (by a smidge) and heavier (by 1 oz) than my Rat Daddy LE.

That makes me feel sooo much better:thumbup: Back when I was un-edgamacated about knives, I sent a Cold Steel knife back so many times, that the packing slip on the forth knife said "Warehouse-Please hand pick.":o:o

Well, once I cleaned it up those pretty much went away.

The more I handle this knife the more I really love it. The convex edge is sweet. Reminiscent of the edge on my Mofo LE's or my SHSJ LE. I think this might take the spot of all around knife for me.

Thank you again Jerry and all of the Busse crew, well done!!!:cool::D

Jerry, Garth, Amy and crew, thank you for this fantastic knife. Words cannot describe how amazing it is. The more I handle this beauty the more I am dying to take it out and eat up some lumber.

I NEED GOOD WEATHER!!!

One of the best knives I have, and I have a few.
