By no means a Jack Black class day, but not a bad haul.

The little Victorinox and the Boker USA Tree Brand were still there, at half price, on day three of an estate sale. The Vic looks unused, and the Boker USA is chrome plared, suggesting to me enough age to be of USA manufacture(?). I'll have to find something circular to glue into the shield hole.

The no-name peanut was at another estate sale, half price again, all of one dollar. Nice new house on a big country lot, but judging by the knife's patina, this guy was quite happy with one ordinary plastic-handled knife for a long time.

There might be a name or something on the tang of the pen blade of the peanut. I have a "no name" knife with "Made in USA" on the main, and everything else (worn down enough that it cannot be read) on the pen blade.

Nice finds.

Seems like around here Estate sales have gone to small businesses which bid the items on the internet. I used to find them my best resource.

Bokers, especially old ones, are a favorite of mine. Seems like quite a few of them lose their shields though. Well made knives otherwise and you would think they could find better glue. ☺☻

Quite the nice haul.

LOL! :D Nice finds my friend  I'm sure you can do something about the missing shield on the Boker :)

Here's my Ka-Bar 'nut

Jack, I believe that Kabar 'nut is also a Camillus built knife - and nicely made at that. OH

Thanks OH, it was gifted to me by Pete (Stich) 2 or 3 years back. I noticed Carl's photo in one of the other threads the other day, and was struck by the similarity

Thanks, guys.
I can't find anything on the tangs of the 'nut, but it could have had a blade etch. I'm happy to believe it's a Camillus.
I have a new Boker that popped its shield as soon as I dropped it on a carpet. They really should have found a better glue by now.
I think a tiny washer will be the easiest fix.

Knife World magazine had an article many years back about Camillus. They called Camillus 'the contract king' because of the fact that Camillus was so huge, they made knives under contract for just about everyone who made knives, including Schrade, Kabar, and many others. Camillus was the giant of the cutlery trade.

It's fast getting to the point where I need to have another table-clearing session  :o

Dang Jack! They see you coming at the boot sale don't they! $$$$$Ching, Ching!$$$$$:thumbup:

Very nice haul. We all aspire to the "Jack Black Class" :D

That's why whenever asked "Who made this one?" I say Camillus. I'm probably right at least half the time. :)

From what I remember about the production numbers of Camillus, you may be right about 2/3ds the time!
:D
