By no means a Jack Black class day, but not a bad haul.

The little Victorinox and the Boker USA Tree Brand were still there, at half price, on day three of an estate sale. The Vic looks unused, and the Boker USA is chrome plared, suggesting to me enough age to be of USA manufacture(?). I'll have to find something circular to glue into the shield hole.
...
The no-name peanut was at another estate sale, half price again, all of one dollar. Nice new house on a big country lot, but judging by the knife's patina, this guy was quite happy with one ordinary plastic-handled knife for a long time.
...

Congrats, scrteened porch!! You definitely had a productive day!:thumbup:
Do you know what model that little Vic is? Don't think I've ever seen that "electrician blade" on a little red one like that.:cool:

Thank you. I've been using the Boker, which seems a little bigger and heavier than my Queen #9, but has sharpened up well with a little more effort than I expected.
I don't know what the Vic is. It's 3.25", with just the spear main, electricians' second, and a phillips in the corkscrew seat. And toothpick and tweezers. I could shoot the tang stamps if it would help.

Thanks. I think I found it on SAKwiki, which suggests it may be a Radio Shack "exclusive" (at least that's how I read it in a quick scan of the page).

Jack, you have some cool nutcrackers on your table!:thumbup: Those take me back to my childhood, when we had a nutcracker very similar to those that was stored with the Christmas decorations. It only came out around Christmas, because that was the only time we had walnuts, pecans, filberts (?), etc. that came in the "Christmas bags" of candy, nuts, and fruit passed out to my siblings and me at the Sunday School Christmas program. As Bob Hope used to croon, thanks for the memories! :D:D

Wow. Neat hatchet. Is that a protruding tang on the upper hawkbill folder?

Thanks my friend, the hatchet was a birthday present from ScruffUK - a W.Gilpin - He did a nice job of restoring it

The knife is an Albert Oates Sheldon knife. I don't know if you remember me rambling on about these 2 or 3 years ago? Even Mick Wellington didn't know what I was on about - though it didn't help that I couldn't remember what the knife was called! :D I got one of these traditional Sheffield one-handed opening friction folders at last! :)

Thanks GT, there was a fourth pair, perhaps the nicest, but they've already been gifted. The ones I have in my kitchen drawer aren't anywhere near as nice! I got some nuts last Christmas for the first time in ages - what a mess my living room carpet was after! :D For some reason, when I was a kid we didn't own a pair, so it meant a trip to the cellar steps with a hammer! :D If you tell me which set you like, I'd be happy to put you them in the post :)

I took some steel wool to the backsprings of the Boker, and discovered a bit of subtle fancy-pantserie that had escaped me. The center liner is milled or whatever you want to call it.

If you have an Eye Witness on the table , I could help you.

I was joking because I think you are pretty familiar with Taylor's Eye Witness and I like mine a lot too. I did not spot the one on your table. Which one is it ???

Thanks for your very generous offer, Jack, but I think my wife would play the "hypocrisy card" if I brought in a nut cracker after trying to convince her we need a wholesale divestiture of household goods this summer! :o I'll just have to content myself with the photo of your table to spark memories of exploding shells and bitter "meat"!:D:D

I rarely pass on a Taylor's :) This one is the small Ivory Sleeveboard, I'll have to take some pics when I've finished giving it a clean (not that it needs much)
