By the power of Grayskull!!!!

Here's what is going to be the back piece of the sheath. Roughly cut out. Eyelets to lash paracord or a. Leather shoestring from a boot. Tried to do something that hasn't been done. The tab on the spacer piece will fold over with a button snap. This sheath will be a dangler type.

It's turning out better than I thought. At first the was too stiff it was like working with cardboard. More it warmed up easier it was to work with. Sanding out edges was like sanding balsa wood. Much easier than I thought it be. I figured it be like cardboard and fray and split. Tomorrow I'm going to do some stitching and gluing the pieces together.

I think I'm figuring out why the leather sheath makers charge what they do and take so long to make a sheath. Defiantly a time consuming project. I stopped at this point because I want it to look as good as What I envisioned in my head and not rush it and make irreversible mistakes. I only got enough leather for one try.

I'm thinking of doing something similar to you sheath wise...i may have to copy your design!!! Sorry!!

By the way, I was thinking of using paracord core thread for the stiching, what do you think?

Go ahead if it works for ya. This is my first ever sheath and first ever time making something out of leather. I'm just making this up as I go along:) I have no idea on the paracord thread, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Maybe wax it first tho.
