This is one I've anxiously been awaiting. I've handled a UK Pen, and have seen the other slipits. But frankly, they are simply too expensive for me.

I've had this one for a day now. Excellent knife. Well worth the wait. Flawless fit and finish. Very handsome and unique. Very sharp out of the package.

Closing resistance seems a bit more stiff compared with the UK Pen I handled. Absolutely smooth opening and closing action, without any "gritty" feel found in some even high end traditional slipjoints. Friction surfaces look nicely finished. I don't anticipate any galling due to rough or soft metal. Despite the two blades steel bolsters, the Wings hardly makes more of a footprint or drag on my pocket, being of moderate size and weight. I was unable to compress the closed blade such that the edge makes contact with the backspring, a clumsy characteristic I've noted on several multi bladed folders of various make, leading to instantly dulled blades. Very well thought out knife!

I do have but one criticism. The edge bevel on the plain blade, while sharp, is thick (about .030" where the hollow primary grind meets the edge grind) and not very acute (about 39 degrees inclusive). Compare this with the serrated edge bevel, which is close to about .027" thick and 16 degrees measured at the bottom of a wide serration. I'm one of those folks who thinks you need a real good excuse to keep a edge bevel more obtuse than about 20 degrees inclusive. Over time, the PE blade will get the flat grind/zero edge treatment like my Native and Starling got.

One other possible improvement: jimping on the thumb ramp part of each blade spine and in the dip of the spine near the tip, for finer controlled cutting.

Congrats on this knife. Definitely a winner, and one I can justify financially.
