I've decided I'm going to pick up a Byrd Cara Cara in the next week or so based on reviews (and handling one at a store, obviously.) However, the one I handled was the SS-handle model, and I'm just not fond of slippery SS for a knife handle. So - FRN, or G-10? Anyone own both? Just a matter of opinion? Lemme know!

Both are great, but I prefer the G-10 model. It's feels more solid and it's very good looking.

Go with the G10 its not really massively better then FRN but its so much cooler…

The G-10 Cara Cara is a nice bit of kit, but then they all are for that matter. I found that the G-10 version gives you the solid feeling of the stainless version, but with a much better grip. The G-10 on the Byrd models is not as 'aggressive' as on the Spyderco knives, so will spare your pockets somewhat. All in all, a great knife.

I have various Spydies with both. G-10 all the way, if it's my choice. Feels less like a toy...and it isn't as cold and lifeless as FRN.
