Byrd Flight G10 question... (knockoff?)

I recently bought a Byrd Flight in G10. I've had a few Byrds before, a Raven and a SS Crossbill and they both came to me folded, packed in small boxes similar in shape to the ones the Spyderco knives come in. This one however came packed in a big cardboard and plastic package, with the knife visible through the plastic in an open position. The Spyderco logo also isn't visible anywhere on the package. I also noticed that this one didn't have torx screws for the pocket clip like my older Byrds, but small, regular, cross shaped screw driver screws instead.

Is there any possibility that this is a knockoff, or is this the way Byrd knives come nowadays? I haven't used the knife yet (it's a gift for my brother), I have only felt it in my hand and opened and folded it a couple of times and everything feels good about it so far (love the feel of it and the lockup is beautiful), but of course I want to make sure that I give my brother the real thing, so I'm asking just in case.

Like I said, this is no critique at all. From what I've seen, I don't see anything wrong with the knife whatsoever, I just saw that something was different from what I've seen before and wanted to ask about it.

Almost all my Byrd knives have come in the sort of package you describe, and my G-10 Flight has Phillips head clip screws, so either you're good to go or we've both been had. ;) :D

my cara-cara came in the same package and has philips screws... plus ordered from a good online company.... so doubt that its fake.....:-D

It's not fake. We used to get cara caras and ravens in those kinds of boxes, as well as in the normal box at the knife shop I worked at.

I have Byrds that came in both the old and the new package. The blister pack knives are a new generation of Byrd.
