I bought a Meadowlark about 6 months ago and a Pelican shortly thereafter. I have lots and lots of folders (150 or so). I have no mall ninja or junk knives and have a wide range of styles. I rotate my EDC between Benchmande...Kershaw...SOG and Spyderco knives.

So I've had this Meadowlark for a while now....and I have to tell ya...I find myself carrying this thing everywhere. Nice G-10 scales......super sharp edge and easy to keep that way. I look at new folder coming out and what they cost in comparison to what I paid for the Meadowlark...and I'm having a hard time justifying getting some new production folders. There are some folders with VG-10...S30V...ZDP etc...that I will pick up.....but in general....IMHO..this Meadowlark is hard to beat even for knifes double or even triple the cost.

I bought the Pelican (partial serration) on a whim and didn't like it when it came out of the box. I don't really know why...I just didn't. I threw it in my desk and used it for every crappy job I could find. This thing hasn't flinched at anything I've thrown at it and I've done some rotten sh#t to it.

I guess my point is just a word of praise for some low priced...but not low end knives.

I feel the same way about the Meadowlark. I dont have a collection anywhere near yours but I do have some nice knives that were more expensive. I dont have a lot of posts on here but it seems half of the ones I do have are praising this knife. Most probably think this is my first quality made knife and that I just cant get over myself...but it really does keep finding its way into my pocket.

I have also been very impressed by the byrd line. The Meadowlark and Robin, in particular, have great ergos and really work well for me. The blade steel has performed nicely in my use as well.

Definitely a great value.

I bought the Pelican and the Crossbill.

These are my hard use beater knives. They are starting to show some scratches on the handles and other wear marks.

However, this hasn't hampered them one bit in the performance department. They will cut for a long time and then with a few swipes on sharpmaker; they are back to full strength.

Now, I'm looking at the Cara Cara and the Robin as my next additions from the Byrd line.

These knives are a super value for their price!

i have the g10 robin, i love it. one of my favorite spydercos .the byrds are really cool.

If its the same as my Cara Cara G10, it should be ambi for tip up carry.

Thanks!

I got a lightweight Cara Cara in the mail today, can't complain about the knife, but it's a tad larger than I thought it would be!

Am thinking a Meadowlark would be better for EDC for me, but I saw some sites that referred to them as "right handed"???

Anyone who has a G-10 Meadowlark that can say for sure?

Hi, Last Confederate,

I've got a G10 Meadowlark and the clip reverses...if that's what you mean. I'm a lefty

and it works great for me! I really like the byrd knives. Lotta knife for the money. My

favorite is the Robin...as the Meadowlark is just a tad large for my edc.
