For a few weeks now I've owned and carried a Byrd Robin with G-10 handle scales. It's a decent knife overall, and I only have one problem with it. If I close the blade and allow it to snap closed, a small nick appears about midway down the blade. When the blade clicks closed, the edge is hitting a section of the metal backspacer inside the knife. This puts the dent in the blade edge, which is very disappointing and annoying after I've sharpened it to a hair-shaving edge. I can sharpen and strop the nick a while and it goes away. If I gently ease the blade closed, it does not click shut hard enough to cause the nick. Has anyone else had this problem? I'd like a Cara Cara, but not if this is a common problem with Byrd models. I've never had a knife that manages to dull itself! But everything else about this knife is great.
