Has anybody tried those out from Baryonyx? It seems like it could be a great “edge leading” finishing stone with possibly better long term properties than the Spyderco ceramics. Not cheap though.

I have one, and like it a lot for touch-ups on pocket knives, and for edge-leading deburring. The 4x2 portable size I got makes it easy to keep around.

Obviously I'm biased, 'cause I sell the things, but they're a perfect touchup and finishing stone for me. Less prone to the surface blunting than sintered alumina stones by far, and they cut almost alarmingly fast for how fine they are. Should last a lifetime, so while it's true they're not cheap, they won't wear out on you!
