C.R.K.T. KFF - problem with lock?

I took a look at the small C.R.K.T. Crawford/Kasper Fighting Folder the other day. I noticed a problem with the lock. If you open the blade slowly, the lock wouldn't engage properly. You had to push the blade open, using some amount of power, before the lock engaged fully. Now, I have a large KFF, and the lock works on it like a charm. So I was wondering whether the faulty lock was a fluke or is this a common problem with the small KFF?

Hmmmm... mine doesn't do that. I have both the large and small, and the locks on both work great. I haven't handled any others, so maybe I was just lucky with my purchases.

I have owned 3 of those (Medium CRKT Crawford/Kasper) knives, and NONE of them had that problem. I'd take/send it back as it is defective.

Do you mean the lock isn't fully engaging the blade tang? Sometimes liner locks can wear-in quickly when you see this. With titanium liners, the wear-in period happens quickly, but I'm figuring the CRKT liners are steel, so it'll be a little slower. To fix it myself, I'd open it hard a hundred times or so. Not whip it out as hard as you can and toss it across the room. Just hard enough that you can get some accelerated wear on the liner face. If you're still not there, open the lock and give it a spine whack or two, that might settle it in.

Or, of course, you can send it back to CRKT. But I figure, why send it back when you can have the excitement of either fixing it or ruining it yourself

The knife isn't mine, it was on display at a local gun store. And the owner didn't seem too worried about it when I pointed out the problem to him.

Joe, yup, I believe we are talking about the same thing.
