Agreed. Nice thread. Will be interesting to see the knives that show up here.Soul, difficult to define but you know when it's present. Sometimes you hear it, other times it's seen, most times ya simply feel it. Harleys, Ducatis, Lamborginis, Smith & Wesson, Colt .45s all got it. Some knives have it others don't.
Reading recently that a certain knife lacked soul I began looking at some knives I had on hand, trying to determine if they had soul.
Eventually concluding that for me the more soul a knife had the better, whether that soul was imparted through years of use, modifications or was part of the original design. It also seemed that some had more than others.
The following are some of those that IMO have that certain something we call soul. Let's see the cutlery you feel has that certain something and emits a bit of soul.
Soulful Yankee Jack - get it's zest from it's uniquely beautiful Macassar ebony, modified bolster and years of amazing service.

15's have it and this one's soul was elevated whenglennbad added some interesting and grippy stag

Most Puukkos have it in spades, especially if their handles are made of birch bark like this Todor Hristov.

...and of course there are many, many other knives that have soul.
I think it will make an interesting thread if you'd like to show those in your collections you feel have that certain something!
I carry this knife about one third of the time!! Ever since it was born in late 2012!! I am lucky to have one of its Safe Queen siblings to compare it with; It's been through a lot, but it has a long life ahead of it!! It has stayed sharp for long periods of use - once about 3 years!! The steel is a "cut above"!! Ha Ha!! Maybe you can see it has worn down about 5-10%Some knives have it others don't.
