C65bk Black Lum chinese folder - sprint run coming???

Gotta ask again - been in love with the Lum C65 since it showed up, and have heard tale of a sprint run of black handles. Sal or Kristi, can you advise if the rumor is true, and when one might be on the lookout for it?
 
The rumor is true. The blade steel will be ZDP 189, though I'm not sure if it's laminated or straight. We haven't been given a release date yet. You might want to get a pre order in where they're taken. These are highly sought after. Joe
 
Joe - any word on WHO is pre-ordering that's reliable and trustworthy? Thanks for the input - I think you're right, these won't last long.... ADAM
 
To be honest with you, I haven't looked into it. You might try the usual like New Graham, one shop knife stop, knife outlet, and possibly the knifecenter. I'm just guessing here BTW, Sorry. Good luck, Joe
 
To each his own; but unless you can afford to have your cash sit in limbo for an indeterminate length of time, you might reconsider the desire to preorder.
 
Most places that I have preordered anything at did not charge my card until the item was ready to ship. Before you preorder just email and ask or check their faq.
 
They are still in the schedule. We are disappointed, as you are, that our maker has been slow in this project. Apparently the culprit is getting ZDP.
