CA Bush Bash - Pics

Hey real men dont have pink knifes lol... The cobbler was just awsome, it was a big hit after dinner. With everyone having seconds.

we had a full rally this morning. I had to drive down to jump Mike's car, then we all decided to make sure we coule make it back up in the morning mud. My van is now brown.

Great weekend again. The snow and cold temperature was a big surprise when we got there because of some misinformation from some crackpot local wannabe weatherman (Crackpot Forecast), and it got down into the 20's during the night, but the next day was nice and sunny.

Shooting was fun, fatwood hunting was fun, firemaking was fun, and the food was great. I don't think anyone didn't have a great time.

My thanks to Koyote for the jump start this morning. That sucked.

Here are a few pics of the area and a group shot.

Great meeting everyone! Man, that was an awesome weekend, my first "real" camping experience. I'll post some more pics when I get a chance. Me and Ian received the honor of peeing out the camp fire.

We got a video of Ian's rally car successfully driving uphill through that mud (miracle!)

:eek:What? Your yuppie $80,000 SUV wouldn't start? Man that sucks. At least you made it there. Your other, even more expensive SUV would have been stuck somewhere on Hwy 99:D

Seriously though, it was great seeing you guys again and meeting phil and Ian for the first time. We'll plan the next one around October when it will be warm:rolleyes:

That looks like a great time! It makes me eager for this summer's get together here in Western NY.

well got home a while ago took a shower to get rid of the smell of the camp fire smoke.

IMO that's one of the best parts! you go home smelling like wood and you dream crazy outdoor stuff for the next two weeks! I wear my PFD post-river trips for up to three days just because it smells like river, I can reminesce of good times had and experiences gained without being thrown right back into the stinky smell of society.
Interesting that Kandis shoots right handed and throws left handed.

I'm left handed and right eye dominant, so I do the same. Us diagonal folks have some wierd tendancies but meh... whatever works!!!

What do you drive? Is it a Cayenne or a Tuareg?

I'd lop off my left nut with a dull machete to go on a backpacking trip in the Catskills!!!

PayetteRucket, You should have smelled me lol.. I bet you would kick me out of the house.. But the worst part about going camping is going to work today. I wish i were still out camping and smelling like a camp fire.

Time to contribute some pictures!

Hangin' out on the firing line.

Working with fire. Flint and steel, with char cloth and jute, and then onto fatwood.

Kicking back and enjoying the fruits of our labors. Making a fire when everything is soaked is tricky! Note that one of us is wearing Crocs, despite the cold.

Checking out a Cold Steel kukri.

nice pics, where exactly is this place at? Is it located withing a national forest, great to see knives, people having fun and guns!

Glad to see everyone had a great time and I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I would like to attend the next gathering.

I take it that nobody harvested that cheeky squirrel?

The spot is in the Sequoia National Forest, but outside of the Park boundary.
