hey guys i have the alpha hunter A.G. series from cabelas and i'm about to order the mini alpha( 196)....how do you safely get the yellow logo off the blade? the knives are great but, for me, personally i think the yellow logo is odd. it looks like a sticker almost.

BTW- FEEL FREE TO POST PICS OF YOUR A.G. 196'S!!

thanks

Correct i believe,,, I recall seeing a thread about removing them within the last 3 months. Me, I try to stay away from logos on everything. I think they make a product look cheep.

yeah i just noticed today...since i havent been on in awhile....that i dont have a search engine on the site anymore:(

snotwad- thats what i think of the logos too. but as far as the steel itself goes...its AWESOME. Also something i just thought of, what do the coatings do for the s30v?

I'd just be happy to find my AG 110!

Somehow it's gotten loose from my 110 storage container and is on the run!!!!

I used paint stripper to remove the logo on my rubber vanguard. Then I wished I hadn't. After I did it, I decided I liked it.

I have a standard AG 110 and two of the stag models. They both have the emblem/logo on the blade and I kinda like it. Then I have another one that has been rehandled in mammoth tooth. It's had the emblem removed (before I got it) and I like it too. Either way, they are great looking knives

I left it on my 110 and it grew on me. In a perfect world, I'd get rid of the logo and the coating because there's no logical reason to coat s30v in any knife application.

I like my logo also. It seems to give it a upgrade look. The BP 110 that I have just seems to be missing some thing when I look at it. All though it has been used as a dinner knife when I could not get one right away at a resturant. HL

I've left the logo on all of mine, too. It kinda grows on you after a while. And if, somewhere down the line, I decide to sell it, I think it's a big plus to have it intact.

trust me...i won't be selling mine:) i'll use the acetone....got a whole container full that i use to clean arrows before fletching.

thanks guys

I also like the AG logo on the blade. It is very similar to the Dodge Ram truck logo...I have been driving Ram trucks for the last 10 years, so I may just be bias. Anyway, I have 4 AG 110's 2 in wood shoes and 2 in stag shoes. I'm not sure if many know that there are color variations to the blade coating, one variation is jet black and glossy, the other variation is not glossy and has more of a blued steel look.

I do have a stag 196 also.

The AG 196 is the one at the top, middle one is a Timberlake chipflint, Bottom is ATS-34 stag (FYI the glossy look of the stag is from the lighting used for the photo, the stag is not glossy in reality).

JB, Did we ever decide why that is? Did the darker ones come first and more gun blue come second or the other way.Mine is the darker shiny.DM

Dave, if the knives I have are any indication, the older ones are the darker black.

jb-is that top A.G. stag handle really that glossy? i thought about the stag A.G. but cant decide which one to get.
