This is a knife that hasn't been mentioned too much on the forums but it's a knife that I grow fonder of every day. 3" blade with BOS heat treated cryoquenched S30V steel and a really nice saw with guthook.

But I feel this knife could serve a multitude of purpose besides hunting. The guthook would make a fine seatbelt cutter in an emergency. The saw would make a good instrument for cutting small limbs and the knife itself is super sharp for any cutting purposes.

The dual unassisted flippers are handy for swinging the blades out quickly. The knife itself feels light and confident in the hand. Comes with a Cordora sheath that can be carried horizontally or vertically.

For about $85 a real bargain I think. click Here

Anybody else want to comment on their thoughts?

I had a regular Buck Crosslock, the liner lock sucked. Too thin, it only took a light hit on the spine to disengage it.
I'm never buying a Buck liner lock knife again.

I had a similar experience. I had a crosslock soon after they first came out. That thing was a piece of crap. Tons of side-to-side blade play, flimsy handle, garbage lock. Just a cheap knife all around. To put it in a nutshell, I would rather have had a Smith & Wesson.

This new one looks nicer in the picture, but I still don't trust it. It may be better quality, but I still wouldn't buy one.

I do not own this one, but I do have the 110 cabelas alaskan guide, and it is a performer!

I do own some of the older crosslocks (from 12+ years ago), and they were decent knives. One in better steel would be a keeper.

Buck really redesigned the crosslock concept with this PBS crosslock. Every hands-on review I've come across has been respectful of it.

I wouldn't get the camo version, though. I cannot think of anything more futile than dropping a camo-handled knife or flashlight or whatever in the woods and struggling to find it again! :D

Wanted it but in their infinate wisdom Cabellas will not ship to Canada (to quote the order desk lady "these are lethal weapons- don't you know knives are sharp!") With that kind of sales representatives and that kind of company ethic (the knives are fully legal in Canada) I will never support that company- no matter how much I like/want the knife. I also contacted Buck twice to see if they would let me purchase it from them/ Cabellas and have Buck ship it to me but I never recieved a cacll back from anybody.
Sorry about my mini-hijack but I had to rant a bit about ridiculous customer service.
Now back to your regularily scheduled thread......

KRIS, Cabela's is in business to make money. They make money by selling the items on their shelves and in their catalogs. If Cabela's wasn't interested in selling what some employee might call lethal weapons, they wouldn't post them for sale to anyone. If they aren't selling to Canada, it's because they have been scared off or warned off by Canadian authorities. But it's worth checking further, in case this is an incident of an over-zeaous employee exceeding her own non-existent authority.

I have one, and it makes a first-rate knife for backcountry use. The blade is ground with a very thin edge, mine works great for cleaning fish. The saw comes in handy for cutting smaller limbs, and the gut hook makes a handy marshmallow stick sharpener.

That's strange. Ive been dealing with cabela's for many years. For one of the customer reps to say something like that I doesnt sound right. I would talk to someone else there. I do not believe they would put up with that.

I talked to the sales persons manager and was basically told the same thing as before. If anybody wants to look into this further- the Canadian Connection recently had a post about this topic. It seems that they just refuse knives to us Canucks. But there are many more companies and knives so it is more of an annoyance (although any help from our American friends to pressure them to sell to us would be welcome- even if nothing comes about from it).
Thanks for the responses t my hijack
