Seriously big stores...

I wanted a blaze-orange baseball hat. The field archery range I shoot at specifies some sort of blaze-orange gear for safety, and I thought a cap would be cooler than a vest when it got warm.

None of the sporting goods stores in my area had any; "seasonal" items.

So we were "up North" to see the grandkid play soccer, and I realized that the new Cabela's was in the nearby outlet mall.

This one is brand new, I think it's only been open a couple of months. They have not one but two huge displays of taxidermied-posed critters in natural settings (complete with a waterfall and pool), but an indoor shooting range and an indoor archery range.
And plenty of blaze-orange caps....:D

You could unload some serious money in one of these places.

Cabela's is a long ways away from here, but I have ordered from them by mail, and online, many times.

They've got some nice stuff, and reasonable prices. I'm just sorry there isn't a store nearby that I could just walk into and visit.

Their going to be putting a Cabela's store in in Connecticut in the next few years. Should be fun.

When they opened up the one in Boise last year it was the top news story for about a week. It was like the President was coming to town. Cabelas is a wonderful place to go if you have money to dispose of.

They send me about ten pounds of catalogs a year. :p

I just got a pair of zipoff pants from them yesterday.

Theres one in Hamburg, PA, about a 2 and a half hour drive, at least. I would love to go. Heard about THE gun room.

Just visited the one in Minneapolis and thought it was great. Picked up a Buck 110 and had a wonderful time wandering through the store.

There is a Bass Pro Shop in Arundel Mills, about 20 min from my work, that I have been meaning to go to for some time.

bass pro is ok. they have some nice stuff. especially if there is no cabelas near you.

cabelas is much better though. higher end gear/guns, better selection.

There is going to be a Cabelas opening up fairly close to me sometime this year. We also have two Gander Mountains and a recently opened Bass Pro Shop within similar driving distance. I like the GM's better than BPS, but Cabelas will trump them all. I can't wait!

there is a bass pro opening up in ontario, i think, this summer. about as close as we have in ca.

there already is a bass pro shop in ontario ,,on highway 400 ,,right besides canadas wonderland, in the big mall . i was there last summer (2006)

I was in cabelas PA ,,last month ,,,great store
they have a cabelas scheduled to be opened in 2008 in Montreal Quebec Canada
its on their website

I bought quite a few items from Cabela's over the years - including clothes. I got a cool rain jacket a few months ago. Best damn rain jacket I've ever owned. Another place I've been frequenting (on the Internet, of course) is MidWayUSA. I bought quite a few of my shooting gear (shooting table, rest, bag, etc.) from them.

The Gander Mountain in York PA is the absolute best outdoor store I've ever been in. You can take Dicks Sporting Goods, GM is my go to for the good stuff.

I have some 3-button polo shirts from them and lots of jeans. They sell some very durable clothes
