I have been trying to reload and do some reading, but dam I am getting depressed. Any suggestion?

Get out and go for a walk. Strap a knife to your hip, load up a backpack with a thermos of tea and a tasty snack and hit the trail. Even if it's a local park. Exercise always helps me . . . .

Exercise outside (a brisk walk would suffice) and some time spent under full spectrum lighting when indoors.

Good luck! :)

Just go outside. As long as it's not 10 below with 30 mph winds it's safe to be outside, just dress accordingly.

Or you can reload some .30-30 bullets for me :D Just sighted in my Marlin with a scope today and blew a bunch of ammo down the range. It was fun after being inside for two days, had quite a blizzard here over the weekend.

Play the cow bell. Thats what I do when cabin fever sets in.

If you don't have the ambition to go outside, the cow bell will motivate your wife to put you outside.

Even if you can't get out and do some camping or hiking i like to get out of the house. Do some exploring in your town if you can. I found a nice used book store i didn't even know was there the other day. Check out some pawn shops or the salvation army if thats not your thing. If you usually check the bargains, make a switch and go see the high tech at the high dollar sporting goods place.

Try doing some winter skills or something to keep you busy. Maybe make a knife out of a file or something. This winter I'm thinking of making more wooden bowls and maybe some spoons. Gather more equipment for the spring by catching all the sales. Umm..... I can't think of anything else. LOL

Well 'Ol Bud I'de say get yourself in shape for the spring. You should have plenty of time for the sit-ups/chrunches & push-ups & ....etc body weight training ! After Christmas I plan on doing the same thing, kinda got off track with all the holiday goodies floating around:D

Try taking a nap maybe throw in a mini dream of some outdoor adventure. I also when hit by the fever watch Dick Prenokes alone in the Wilderness or Bill Masons Waterwalker (canoe odyssey), it cheers me right up.

Dude! What better time than the winter blahs to practice firemaking? I was telling my 6 year old about a bow drill just last night and he is stoked (no pun intended) to try it out. As soon as I get over these damn graveyard shifts we are there!!

Play with the wife/girl friend. Seriously. Sex. Or even cards, board games, etc. Do something to enhance the relationship. Then, go outside and enjoy the awesome scenery, etc.

Happy Holidays!

AJ

I know how you feel. One of these days I'm going to find a camping club that goes out once each month. Until then, find a state park that's open, pitch a tent or rent a cabin, and get in as much of that fresh air and sunshine as you can.

Definately get outdoors as was stated. Whittle a few traps by a fire, follow a game trail, or just walk. That usually works for me.

or

Yeah, reload some 30-30, then shoot something and eat it.

Remind me not to piss you off;)

Challenging the mind has a lot of benefits. Even the best at survival needs a purpose to live. Making art and reading or writing books have a place.

Thanks everyone for the good advice. Took the dog for a walk, and cut some briars with the SAK hiker. Feel better now. This depression is hell to deal with.
