Cable kwaiken Tanto with hamon

this is a larger version of the first kwaiken. forged from 1" cable and differentially tempered. polished sharp... and it is... very sharp. pretty hamon too
and here are the specs:

and while this knife doesnt have a sheath now.. i will make one for the knife according tot he buyer's intrest (it is included in the cost)

OAL 14"
blade length: 8 1/2"
blade steel cable damascus with clay temper line
between 1/8" and 3/16" thick
copper habaki
brass seppa, spacer, and pin
black linnin micarta "tsuba"
grenedillo handle

I got the knife. What a beauty. The sheath is kydex lined leather with a baseball glove kind of stitch on the single seam. Post a pic Chis.

here are some pics.. the kydex is lines with buckskin on the inside to keep the blade from getting scratched.

just finished HTing a Wakizashi last night...
plolished it today..

Did you get to see how the piece cut before it went to the new ( proud ) owner. Nice pattern and hamon,
 
the blade cuts very well.. it has a traingular profie and took a SHARP edge.. it cut very very well.
the sheath is very.. er original. but it turned out very well.. i might do that kinda again. it kept the blade from getting scratched or rusty.

I could see a sheath made like that anytime, IMO the sheath looks extraordinary well done :thumbup:
