Cable Razor

I have wanted to make a razor for a while so i came up with this. The blade is forged and flat ground from cable and the handle is professionaly stabilized chechen burl.

I love that blade. Looks a bit like reptile scales. Great job.:thumbup:
 
Thanks guys! No i did not try it :eek: yet i would like to but it might be sold.:D
Is till need to give it a honing Pierre maybe you can try it when you visit if i still have it.:p

Very nice! I like that you didn't etch the blade till it was black, but you can still see the pattern. Neat wood, what did you use to slot it? Table saw? End mill?
edit: I see the pins now, it must be two pieces?

looks cool. i made a razor once and used it... once. it was for the one time iv had to shave in the past four years haha. i didnt want any old bic so i roughed out and hollow ground a big scary razor and pined it to some antler. it didnt work too well and sure as hell didnt look as good as this one. i like the shape of the handle very much!

Thanks for the comments fellows. Butch i checked out your website those are some fine looking razors :thumbup:and i now see what you mean and will round the corners on the next one if there is a next one.

Very nice! I like the looks of that cable damascus very much. :thumbup: It kind of mimics the "birdseyes" in the chechen burl. Cool beans!
