CABS here!

#47. :)

If anyone cares, the leather sheath that Knivesshipfree sells for Bark River's Bravo 1 fits the CABS fairly well. Mine is stretched out for the B1 thickness so it is a little loose, but it's still servicable to carry it in until I get one made specifically for it. :)

I have a JRE sheath that came with one of Andy Roy's Recluses. Don't know the sheath size/model, but it fits the CABS quite well. Soon, however, Mr. Puckett will have an order from me.

It feels great. Very slim and trim and the slabs are slightly handshaped.
The paper micarta is smooth....almost slick. I'll have to see how they function during field dressing next week. Hopefully they don't get too slippery during the process.
I also didn't realize that the edge would be convexed. I'll have to learn how to maintain it or change it to a V grind.

Compared to my BATACLE it feels tiny though :) The BATACLE was my smallest Busse.

Not sure I'll ever need to get a smaller blade after handling this one. It's a SWEET size.

I just have to wait for my IWB sheath from David Brown for it *hint-hint David :)

For me, the convex is so much easier to maintain. You can make up a little field kit, with a loaded square of leather, a few squares of sandpaper of varying grits and you are good to go. Compact and light.

If you need a v edge, because that is what you are used to, no problem. Just sharpen it up and good to go. It is going to be an excellent slicer!!!!!!

There is a more pronounced guard effect with the talon hole on the CABS as opposed to the AD.

Loving mine so far!

I received mine today, too.

It is the sharpest out-of-the-box Busse I've experienced so far. I guess the dull Busse issue of the recent past has been resolved... Josh did a great job on mine! I love convex edges (most -all?- of my other Busse blades have been convexed).

The CABS has a comfortable handle! I really like the way it feels.

Stay sharp,
desmobob

This is my first black paper handled knife... I've always liked the looks, but never threw down for one. I sure hope it is durable enough for the use I plan for it. ;)

Very cool!!! Thanxx for the pix, it adds to the tease while I wait for mine... ;):thumbup:

Anyone measure the thickness ?

Mine shows .15 at the pommel, and .145 at the thickest part of the blade itself.

Oh, and my CABS fits perfectly in the sheath that came with my Randall #11 Alaskan Skinner.

Thanks for the pictures. It looks like I should've bought two instead of one...

I am glad these have a convex edge.

Always get multiples. "A pair and a spare" isn't a bad idea ... which I first received courtesy of the immortal Skunk.:D

Anyone get some accurate weight measurements yet?

Please notate handle material and whether CABS, SCABS or LCABS.
