I am a CAD contractor based in New Zealand. I am curious how many knife makers here use CAD as part of their process. And also if anyone would be interested in having their knife designs drawn up?

I can provide,
  • Full 3d Design
  • Workshop drawings you can print off and use as templates
  • Photo realistic rendering of your design
  • Laser/waterjet cutting files, you can take straight to your local service

Just trying to gauge interest. Here is an example of some work I have done before.

Impressive looking work.

However, unless you are offering your services for free, you really need to upgrade your membership to "craftsman/service provider". Also, a thread like this would also be better served in the exchange, specifically the "custom shop: services offered" sub-forum.

Thank you!
Sorry I didn't realize I had to upgrade my membership. What sort of cost would I be looking at?
I don't mind doing the odd one for free. I love what I do and if someone starting out needs something done I am more than happy to help them out.

Thanks for your input. I'm newish to the forums!

No problem. Welcome to the forums!
If you click in your upper right corner on settings, and then scroll down the left hand side of the settings page, you'll see a link to paid subscriptions. 1 year for maker/craftsman/service provider is $75.

Good luck!

I think most guys can do CAD now. I use CAD to design and check my mechanism and to make templates for profiling. I don't use CNC & CAM.
