• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Calapooia Walk

Cool trip. Thanks for sharing.

My wife and I are beginners at this hobby. We’ve been grabbing agates at Oceanside for now. We’ve gotten skunked at Newport but I think we just haven’t found the right spot yet. We’re going to try our hand at some rivers this summer. It’s more her hobby but I like that it gets us out of the house.:)

Be careful, Shotgun, it can be addicting, kind of like knives.;)

If you are looking for agates, have not had the best luck at Newport, but better near Lincoln City, Canon Beach, and further south, near Gold Beach.

Beverly Beach (north of Newport) can be a good place to find "fossils" in the sandstone formations there.
Some might argue they are not technically fossils (no mineral replacement of the calcium in the shell yet, as they are not that old, more of a cementation), but who cares.

Enjoy,
Brome
