California law and khuks

Uncle, it gets me sad to say the incident was achieved by a khukuri. The criminal happened to buy one at local knife shop, then start to walk around with it in his hand, exposed. One of the neighbour called 110 ( equibalent of 911 ), and an LEO arrived there. He cautioned, then fired an empty shot, then shot the psyco while he ran toward him wielding the khukuri. Major injury was made by the khukuri's tip at the breast. I guess the khukuri was swung instead of thrusted, but the tip penetrated deep enough to make newspapers describe it as "stabbed".

Really tragic an incident.
