Might I suggest a Kershaw Leek? Great knife. 3" Blade, plenty of blade and finish options to choose from, and it's fairly Sheeple friendly. Good luck.

I live 40 miles east of you in Irvine, CA

I carry a waved Spyderco Delica 4 everyday and have never had any problems.

And for the knife knuts who noticed, yes it is a custom Delica 4 waved with "Black FRN", not the typical blue color that all the emerson's have.

They're a gray-ish blue color. Mostly blue.

It appears that he was comparing the color of the Spyderco knife to the colors that Emerson Knives mostly use.

All Spyderco's with Emerson openers have blue-ish grey handles from the factory.

If you see a Spyderco w/Emerson opener and black handles, it has been modified.
